Water Purification System In Water Works Class 9 Explain
In a water purification system, water brought through canals or long pipes, which contains many
impurities and suspended particles.
The process of water purification system includes the following stages:
Stage-1
The collected water is first stored in the reservoir.
Stage-2
Later it is moved into the sedimentation tank in which all solid particles are allowed to settle down.
Stage-3
Later it is moved to a loading tank, where all the suspended particles are allowed to settle down.
Stage-4
Then, water is moved to a filtration tank, which has three layers:
A fine sand layer at the top
A coarse sand layer in the middle
Gravel at the bottom
All these three layers act as filters and when water passes through these layers, even the smallest of suspended particles are removed.
Stage-5
The cleaned water from the filtration tank is then passed to a chlorination tank, where it is mixed with the chlorine tablets to kill bacteria in the water.
Thus this is a final stage of the water purification system and clean water is now available for drinking and other human use.
