Hi Sanchit,
Watershed management helps in increasing biomass production as it captures every trickle of water by introducing various methods- digging small pits and lakes, building small earthen dams etc.So anyhow conservation of water is maintained and soil quality increases which is useful for plants to grow. The ground-water is also relatively protected from contamination by human and animal waste.
