Start with the day of the month, and the month and decade offsets are added on. Then the final digit of the year is added on, together with the leap year offset. Finally, in Step 6, the total is divided by 7, and the remainder is translated into the day of the week: 0 = Sunday, 1 = Monday, 2 = Tuesday and so on
