Saturated compounds do not decolourize bromine water while unsaturated compounds declourize bromine water.

By bromine water test, we can find which compound is saturated and which is unsaturated.
The one which decolorises bromine on reacting is unsaturated compound. And the one which doesn't decolorise is the saturated compound.
