how we can find the age of trees without actually cutting them????

A hollow drill is inserted into the tree and a plug is pulled out. Afterwards the hole is capped to prevent infection. Then the core is used to count the rings.

Its impossible if we cut we can see some ring like structures we can count and say the trees age
