In space there is no oxygen.

So if there you release oxygen, it will not spread but will move around in a bunch and if there is a molecule of it then it will move around in free space.

Answer:

Most of the station's oxygen will come from a process called "electrolysis," which uses electricity from the ISS solar panels to split water into hydrogen gas and oxygen gas.
