It has to be nitrogen or argon to prevent fires. Carbon dioxide does work, but can react to make potassium carbonate which contaminates your potassium. Isopropanol does react with the potassium metal itself (to make potassium isopropoxide and hydrogen), so you risk destroying some of your expensive potassium this way.
