FIRST, DRAW A LINE SEGMENT AB. THEN, TAKE A SUITABLE MEASUREMENT ON YOUR COMPASS AND DRAW AN ARC ON POINT A WHICH INTERSECTS THE LINE AB AT POINT C. FROM, POINT C, DRAW ANOTHER ARC OF SAME RADIUS WHICH INTERSECTS THE PREVIOUS ARC AT POINT D. FROM POINT D, DRAW THE FINAL ARC OF SAME RADIUS WHICH AGAIN INTERSECTS THE FIRST ARC AT POINT E. JOIN E TO A. <EAB IS THE REQUIRED 120 DEGREE ANGLE. I AM SENDING YOU A ROUGH PICTURE.....
NOTE THAT IT IS IMPORTANT TO KEEP THE RADIUS OF THE COMPASS SAME THROUGHOUT!!!

Step os construction:
1.Draw a ray QP.
2.with Qas a centre and any convenient radius, draw an arc which cuts QP at A.
3. with A as a centre and same radius , cut the arv at B.Again with B as a centre and the same radous , cut the arc at C.
4.Join QC and produce it to R.
5. anglePQR=120
Note=I give name of angle q, p,a, b so don't confuse.
