NOTE: You cannot compare between two algebraic expressions in x without knowing the value of x! Only for a given value of x can you determine which function is greater.

Case 1: (x-2)<(2x+3)

          2x+3>x-2

          x>-5

Case 2: (x-2)>(2x+3)

          2x+3<x-2

          x<-5

Hence, x-2 is greater for value of x less than -5 whereas x-2 is lesser for value of x greater than -5 and for x= -5, both values are equal....................

Hope it helps..................

X-2=

X=2 and

(2x+3)

X=-3/2

As negative sign is always smaller than positive sign therefore. 2 is greater than -3/2.....

Therefore x-2 is greater than 2x+4
