It is correct that gas can be changed to liquid form by exerting pressure and the process involved is called liquefaction of gases.this shows the compresibility of liquid & gas .
For example LPG (Liquefied Petroleum gas) which is used for domestic purposes in kitchen. It is filled into the gas cylinders under high pressure and is converted to liquid form .When pressure is reduced (open the knob of cylinder), the liquid again becomes a gas and produce heat on burning.
