How we used to communicate in earlier time's

in earlier times,we communicate by some signs on stones and by sign languages, by doing some actions from hands.

In earlier times we were not having any mobile phones or any modern means of communication.So,at that time there was a great difficulty in communication so people used to tie a paper consisting their message to the leg of a pigeon and that pigeon used to convey the messages from one person to another.And in more past time people used to communicate by doing some actions and conveying their messages by drawing some signs on rocks.
