Difference between bony fish and cartilaginous fish :

  1. Bony fish have a bone skeleton whereas cartilaginous fish have a skeleton made of cartilage.
  2. Bony fishes can either be fresh water or marine water fishes but the vast majority of cartilaginous fishes survive in marine, or saltwater, habitats.
