How were forest cleared to expand the railway network in India in the early nineteenth century

because to laying the railway lines need large area so they need to cut the large no. of forest the make way for railway lines...and also wood{coal} is use as a fuel to run the steam engine ... so in 19th c the demand of wood increase rapidly so large no. of forest get cut down.
