Nationalist feelings were aroused by the Greek War of Independence in the following ways:-

1. Greece had been a part of the Ottoman empire since the 15th century. People supported Greece in its struggle against a Muslim empire.

2. Poets and artists lauded Greece as the cradle of human life and mobilised popular support for the Greeks.

3. Greeks got sympathy from many Western Europeans as well as other Greeks living in exile.

4. Even popular people like Lord Byron organised funds and fought in the Greek War.

5. Finally the Treaty of Constantiniple recognised Greece as an independent nation and this further popularised nationalism.
