the rich peoples were known as the amateurs and the poor peoples were identified as professionals .the amateurs used to play cricket for passing their time but professionals use to play cricket for earning their livelihood . i.e. the amateurs were not paid money for playing cricket but the professional were paid money for playing cricket . the professionals were usually black peoples and were always fixed for balling they were not allowed to bat but the amateurs were usually white and choose to bat only .
