British policies are responsible for increasing poverty in india because Britishers take high taxes from people and gave them less amount of wage after doing sooo much work in factories that is peasants were doing 15 to 18 hours work but they get the wage as work done in 1 hour. by all these things poverty increases in india....

a) they supplied less work to the rural people.
b) they established different type of tax facilities.
c) they forced the younger generation of that time in the indentured labourism.
