Akbar's interaction with people of different faiths helped him realize that the religious scholar who had emphasized ritual and dogma were often bigots. Their teachings created divisions and disharmony among his subject. This finally led Akbar to the idea of Sulh-i Kul which is also known as universal peace. He inferred that the idea of tolerance was of utmost importance because it did not discriminate the people of different religions in his realm. Instead, it focused on a system of ethics i.e. honesty, justice, peace. These were the virtues universally applicable. Finally Akbar, with the help of Abul Fazl, formed a vision of governance around the idea of sulh-i kul.

During the 1517s Akbar had a discussion on religion with the Ulama, Brahmans Jesuit priest who were Roman Catholics and Zoroastrian. these discussions took place during his stay at Fatehpur Sikri in the religion and social customs of different people and hairs interaction with people of different faith made him realise that their teachings created divisions and disharmony among his subjects. ThusvAkbar came to an idea known as 'Sulh–i kul' Which focus on a system of ethics honesty, justice and peace.Abul Fall helped Akbar in Framing a vision of governance around this idea of Sulh–i kul which also followed by Jahangir and Shah Jahan as well
