Akbar was a supporter and preacher of Universal peace, Sulh-i-kul. His approach towards the idea of universal peace was a result of the differences in the ideas of different religious scholars. He observed that teachings of these scholars created differences among people belonging to different religions.
In order to maintain peace and eradicate the differences among people on basis of religious preaching, Akbar decided to adopt the idea of Universal peace, where no one was discriminated on the basis of religion.
