The Himalayan mountain range and Tibetan plateau have formed as a result of the collision between the Indian Plate and Eurasian Plate which began 50 million years ago and continues today. 225 million years ago (Ma) India was a large island situated off the Australian coast and separated from Asia by the Tethys Ocean.

Hey there!
I've Seen many report on "How Himalayas were formed?" on National Geographic Channel
According to me, formation of the Great Himalyas is a result of a continental collision or orogeny along the convergent boundary between the Indo-Australian Plate and the Eurasian Plate.
The Arakan Yoma highlands in Myanmar and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Bay of Bengal were also formed as a result of this collision.
Indian landmass (Indian plate) 6,000-kilometre-plus journey before its collision with Asia (Eurasian Plate) about 40 to 50 million years ago.
HOPE IT HELPS ^_^
