people were mainly dependent on forest at that time .

in forest act there sub forest act was also enacted and three groups of use of forest was amended :

*Reserved forest

people can't take anything from reserved forest for their own personal use.

it can only be used by colonial.

*Village forest

can be used by anyone.

*Protected forest

can be use by common people by taking government permission .

many forest cutter,dwellers,farmers

was totally distressedas their main occupation was been taken from them.

they had to take another occupation in helplessness .

shifting cultivators, dwellers ,hunters was the worst affected .

the villagers hardships increased .

all their everyday practices was been declared illegal .

shifting cultivators were forcibly displaced from their homes in forests .

some had to change occupation as they use forest unorganizely as they burn the land which could also affect the timber which the colonials wanted ; that's why they were so concered about the village to imply forest laws .
