how wholesaler is different frm retailer......please correct answer ♥♥​

The wholesaler is different from retailer as the wholesaler takes goods directly from the industries and then sells to retailers. Whereas retailers take goods from wholesaler and sells to the consumers. Price of the goods sold by wholesaler is less than those of retailers because as wholesalers take goods directly from industries/manufacturers, they earn their profit and there is only 1 profit earning step. Whereas in the case of retailers, there is 2 profit earning steps, one is of the wholesaler, and then another is of the retailer.

The chain goes like:

Primary Goods------>Manufacturers----->Wholesalers------->Retailers------->Consumers

  1. They are connecting links between the manufacturers and the retailers.
  2. They purchase goods in large quantities from the manufacturers.
  3. They deal in limited number of products.

Retailer:

  1. They are connecting links between the wholesaler and the customer.
  2. They purchase goods in small quantities from the wholesaler.
  3. They deal in variety of products for meeting the varied needs of consumer.
