How will an increase of blood CO2 affect hemoglobin's affinity for O2?

Carbonic anhydrase also helps maintain the acid-base balance in the blood and is present in high concentrations in erythrocytes. ... If CO2 concentrations are low, there is increased the affinity of hemoglobin to carry O2. This is known as the Bohr effect.
