Spores are tiny , spherical asexual reproductive bodies. The are covered by a hard protective wall known as cyst. This provides protection to the spores under unfavorable conditions and the seeds only germinate when it is under favourable conditions thus benefitting the organism from dying out .

The spores are covered by thick walls that protects them until they come into contact with some moist surface like soil and can begin to grow.
