Bcz there is not any source of light. As we only able to see when light falls on any object and reflected to our eyes. Then we are able to see any object.

We cannot see an object in a dark room because of the lack of light. Unlike any animals, we do not have the special eye that allows us to see the object. We can, however, see an object in a dark room after our eyes adjust to the darkness. This act usually takes 15-20 minutes.
