The earth will be destroyed by fire at the 3rd coming of Jesus which happens after Jesus & the saved have been in heaven for a thousand years & return to this earth as stated in Revelation 20, 2Peter3:1–11 describes what the condition of this world will be & the fiery total destruction of this world as we know it. Revelation also talks about the destruction of this world & all sinners in Revelation 20: 9&10. There is no eternally burning fire, once a fire burns all flamable material, it extinguishes it’self & all that is left is ash just like when a match burns. However the results of destructive fire are eternal & sin & sinners including the instigator of all sin ( satan) will be destroyed & God will recreate this world & restore peace & harmony to the universe as it originally was.
