how will India cloth its billion + population if cotton crop fails for successive number of years?

nowadays cotton is using more so without cotton there is no dresses for summer season we will use only cotton cloths. if cotton crops fails for successive number of years there is so many problems

Except seed, no other technology made much impacts although few farmers used irrigation, fertilizers, herbicides and micronutrients with doubling or yield levels matching to that of US. Indian average yields are low due to rainfed marginal soils without any conservation measures. Extension is poor limited to govt schemes, pvt extension limited to selling inputs. The technology providers are not reaching the clients and distortion in information at end users
