ice is solid n has d properties of a solid substance ie particles of substance r close to each other , it has fixed shape n volume
water is a liquid as it has d properties of a liquid ie d particles r nnot too close to each other, it doesnot have a fixed shape n it is a fluid.
steam is a gas as it has d prop of a gas ie particles are far from each other, no fixed volume n shape, highly compressible.
thus we can say dat these 3 things show 3 dfff states of a substance becoz ice is solid n when it is melted it becomes water ie liquid n wen water is boiled it becomes steam ie gas. so these show difff states of ice.
