The blue rose will appear black in green light and blue in magenta light.

  • we see the rose blue in colour because of the reflection of the colour blue by the material present in the rose
  • this is because magenta is a combination of two colours one of which is blue. So it reflects the blue colour which reaches the eye and we can see the blue rose.
  • However green consists of only one primary colour and as a result of this green colour is absorbed  by the blue rose but it does not reflect any lights and hence it appears black in colour
