Because the poets friend that is the Shakespeare friend will live forever in his poetry but monuments and statues will be destroyed by the sheer devasting power of nature.

The living record of the poet memory will outlive the gold plated and gilded monuments. The all powerful time will destroy the monuments and memorials but art and literature will transcend through the time. Neither the sword of Mars nor wasteful wars will dim the shining glory of the words of the sonnet written in the praise of the poets friend. The poet's friend will be remembered by the generations to come and dwell in the lover's eyes until posterity or the doomsday.
