materials required : a spring balance, a metal piece, water,beaker or bucket

procedure

take a piece of metal and find out it's weight in air using a spring balance calibrated in Newton. then find out its weight when immersed in water . record you observation

object = piece of metal

weight in air = 1N

weight in water = 0.75N

loss of weight ( weight of the body in air - weight of the body in water) = 0.25N

interference

here , the loss of weight of the object is due to the buoyancy exerted by water ie. buoyancy =decrease in Weight. so in order to calculate buoyancy experienced by a substance immersed in a fluid , it is enough to find out the loss of weight of the substance in that fluid.
