Treat ethanol with alc . koh to make it ethene . Then add water in presence of acid . You will get ethan-2 -ol . Now oxidise it with CrO3 in acetic acid to get the corresponding ketone . Hope that helps.

Answer:

ethanol to cloroethane to cynoethane reduced to propanamine to propnol

propanol to propyne to acetone

Explanation:

acetone is CH3COCH3 , one carbon atom more than that of the enthanol so inorder to coverert propanol ,

CH3CH2OH + PCL5 = CH3CH2Cl + KCN = CH3CH2CN ( reduction ) =CH3CH2CH2NH2 + HNO2 = CH3CH2CH2OH

propanol is treated with alc.KOH to get propyne

propyne is treated with dilH2SO4  Hg+ to get acetone
