When the carboxylic acid (RCOOH) and alcohol (R’OH) is reacted together than we will get the reversible reaction of ester (RCOOR’) and water (H2O).
However, if we remove ester and water soon then it will react again to obtain the reactants again making it a reversible reaction.
Hence, in order for the equilibrium shift, it will move to the forward direction.
Hence, the ester is produced if any one of them is removed.
