1). Let us take two resistors in parallel while other in series along them

Therefore

1/ Rp = 1/ 9 + 1/9

= 2/9

Rp = 9/2 = 4.5 ohm

Now,

Rt = Rs + Rp

= 9 + 4.5

= 13.5 ohm

2). Let us take two resistors in series and one in parallel along them

Therefore

Rs = 9+9

= 18 ohm

1/Rt = 1/ Rs + 1/ Rp

= 1/ 18 + 1/ 9

= 1 + 2 / 18

= 3/18

Rt = 18/ 3

= 6 ohm
