by trial and error method we can find that when all the three resistors are connected in parallel the net resistance comes out to be 1 ohm

ie

1/2+1/3+1/6=1/R

1/R=3+2+1/6

R=1 ohm

therefore we have to connect all in parallel

Hope this helps
