As per the question we have been provided with three resistors of magnitude

  • 2 ohm
  • 3 ohm
  • 5 ohm

We have to arrange these three resistors in such a way that the equivalent resistance of the combination comes as 2.5 ohm

It can be done by putting 2 ohm and 3 ohm in series and then combining this combination 5 ohm in parallel .

Refer to the attached photo to understand better.

2 ohm and 3 ohm in series shall give 5 ohm as net resistance ; 5 ohm and 5 ohm in parallel shall give 2.5 ohm as equivalent resistance.
