Answer:Three resistors are given one of 3ohm and others of 4 and 7 ohm.
To obtain resultant resistance of 3.5 ohm we will connect the resistors of 3 and 4 ohm in series and get the total resistence of 7 ohm.
As,
Rs= 4ohm + 3ohm
=7 ohm
Then, the 3ohm and 4ohm resistence together are connected parallel with the resistence of 7 ohm.
Hence we get
1/Rp=1/7+1/7
1/Rp=2/7
Rp=7/2
Rp=3.5
