in a series connection...... the equivalent resistance increases.....
say you have 3 resistors.....of 2ohm 4ohm 8ohm....
and you've to find the equivalent resistance.....
let's do it first in parallel combination.....
1/R= 1/R1 + 1/R2 1/R3
R =8/7
R=1.14ohm.....
while in case of series connection.......
it will be 14ohm.....
and now you can see that resistance in series connection is more thanin parallel connection...
that's it
