For the conversion of Hexanenitrile into 1-aminopentane, all you need to do is to take the presence of H+/H2O, SOCl2, NH3(excess) and Br2/KOH.

First, take the Hexanenitrile in the presence of H+/H2O which will gives C5H11-COOH.

Then, in the presence of SOCl2, it will form C5H11-COCl.

On the excess NH3, it will change to C5H11-CONH2. Then with Br2/KOH will give out 1-aminopentane.
