For the conversion of Nitromethane into dimethylamine, the Nitromethane CH3 - NO2 will react in the presence of Sn/HCl to form CH3 – NH2.

It will react in the presence of the CHCl3/KOH or carbylamines reaction which will give CH3 – NC.

Hence, finally, it will be reacted in by Na/C2H5OH to form the dimethylamine CH3 – NH – CH3.

Explanation:

you can make it react with Sn/HCl or you can make it react with H2/Pd(or nickel) to convert it to methylamine then you can react it with 1 mole of CH3I(Iodomethane, as iodine is a better leaving group) to get the dimethylamine.

reaction will be as:

CH3NO2+Sn+HCl ---> CH3NH2+CH3I---> (CH3)2NH

hope this helps you and please mark it as the brainliest

cheers:)
