Welcome dear,
● Benzoic acid to m-bromo benzoic acid -
- Benzoic acid reacts with bromine in presence of ferric bromide gives m-bromo benzoic acid.
● Propanal to butanone -
- First, propanone is treated with Grignard reagent (CH3MgI) to produce 2-butanol.
- 2-butanol on oxidation with CrO3 gives butanone.
● Benzoyl chloride to benzonitrile -
- Benzoyl chloride on hydrolysis gives benzoic acid.
- Benzoic acid is then treated with potassium thiocyanate to produce benzonitrile.
