The experiment to demonstrate breathing procedure in human is - bell jar experiment. The demonstration is explained below -

Bell jar experiment uses a bell jar, fitted with cork. It has Y shaped tube, with balloons at two ends, and one end open for exchange of air.

The lower part of bell jar resembles diaphragm, and is made using rubber sheet. Balloons signifies lungs, and Y shaped tube signifies trachea.

Now, to demonstrate breathing mechanism, stretch the rubber sheet. This causes fall in pressure in the jar. Vacuum is created and hence, the air rushes in ballons, inflating them like lungs.

It represents inhalation, where diaphragm increases the volume of cavity, to create vaccuum, to inhale the air.

Next, Push the diaphragm up. This causes rise in pressure, causing rushing out of air. Hence, balloons deflate.

The volume of cavity decrease, due to contraction of diaphragm. This in turn increases pressure, to force the air out of lungs.

Thus, bell jar demonstrates breathing in humans.
