To demonstrate that particles of matter have spaces between them we will perform an experiment.

1. First we take a beaker and fill 100mL water in it and mark the level of water with the help of pen.

2. Now , add 50 grams of sugar in the beaker and stir with the help of a glass rod ,so that the particles of sugar totally dissolve in water.

3. When all the sugar has dissolved we will get a sugar solution and leave the beaker for a while .

4. After sometime we will observe that the level of sugar solution in the beaker hasn't increased and is at the same mark where water level was initially in the beaker.

5. It shows that even after dissolving the 50grams of sugar in 100mL of water , the volume has not increased.

6. This can be explained by assuming that the particles of matter have spaces between them.

▶ Steps are:-
=========================⤵

❖ Take a glass of water,add sugar and stirr.

❖ You will observe that there is no rise in water level.

❖ This shows that particle of matter have space between them.

❖ When sugar is added to the water the sugar the particles adjust between the space between the water particles.
