Concentrated sulphuric acid can be added to water (and not the other way around as it is an exothemic reaction and can cause the acid to jump out of the beaker and cause burns).
On dilution, pH of the solution increases. This is because on dilution, acidic nature decreases.
EXPLANATION :
We know that,
pH = -log [H+]
on dilution, concenetration of H+ ions per unit volume decreases. \
So, log [H+] value decreases. Because of the negative sign in the formula, pH increases.
