How will you distinguish between Ethane and ethene give the chemical equation for the reaction involved

Ethane is an alkane (saturated hydrocarbon), and it has only σ bonds in its structure, while ethene is an alkene (simple saturated hydrocarbon) which has double bonds in its structure, and the double bonds consists of a single [math]\sigma/\pi]/math] bonds:
