When Water(H2O) is added to QUICK LIME(CaO) , Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)2) orSlaked lime is formed. ... The suspension of Ca(OH)2 in water is called MILK OF LIME while thevfiltered and clear solution is known as LIME WATER.

"The slaked lime and lime water are compounds of calcium hydroxide.

If we add water to quick lime (which is Calcium oxide) slaked lime, which is "Ca{\left(OH\right)}_{2}" is formed.

Lime water is prepared by dissolving calcium hydroxide in excess of water. The water is filtered off. The undissolved "calcium hydroxide" is separated. The filtrate is called lime water.

When excess of calcium hydroxide is added to the lime water a suspension is formed, giving a milky appearance. This is called "milk of lime"."
