I think that this could help you maybe-
Take iron fillings and 1 magnet.When you will take the magnet near the iron fillings you will see that most of the fillings will be on the sides of the magnet. Now remember there are 2 places where they are sticking the most so i believe that this makes 2 regions.From this you know that there are 2 regions in a magnet where its magnetic strength is concentrated.
