Unemployment is when a person is willing to work, but is unable to find a job.
There are people who are voluntarily unemployed because of their laziness, economics does not consider them.

Unemployment is essentially because of overpopulation. For example, the huge and uncontrollable population of India has led to the scarcity of jobs, causing many people to go unemployed.

Unemployment leads to a decrease in per capita income, as these people do not earn anything, but are considered a part of the population, hence increasing the denominator causing the per capita income to decrease.

\large\mathrm\red{Unemployment-}

A situation in which skilled and abled people do not get gainful work at a decent wage is called unemployment. Rural and urban areas both have unemployment. In the case of the rural population, there is seasonal unemployment, and in urban areas, there is educated unemployment.
