The direction of magnetic field can be determined by right hand thumb rule

If we curl the fingers of right hand along the current flowing in the loop then the direction of thumb will give the direction of magnetic field

Here as we curl the finger along the direction of current in solenoid then the direction of thumb will represent the magnetic field due to solenoid.

So the magnetic field direction always shows north pole of solenoid as the magnetic field lines always originate from north pole and terminate at south pole.

So above right hand rule is the way to find north pole without using any compass.

Answer:

It can be found out using the Right Hand Thumb Rule.

The Direction of thumb represents the direction of current and the direction in which the remaining fingers are curled represents the direction of magnetic field helping us to find the magnetic polarities without using compass.
