How will you get the unit of a derived physical quantity

Derived quantities are those whose definitions are based on other physical quantities....so let's take an example of Force

F=ma

where m=mass and a=acceleration

so we can say tht

mass=kg and

acceleration=velocity/time

so acceleration =ms^-1

Thus we can say the unit of force is kg.ms^-1
