Open Microsoft Word.
Click the Insert tab in the Ribbon.
In the Insert tab click the Date & Time option, which is shown in the image below highlighted in a red box
.Select from one of the available formats on how you want the date and time to be inserted. If you want to have this information automatically updated you can check the Update automatically box.
Once you're done selecting the format click OK to insert.

The steps to insert date and time in a document :
1. click where you want to insert the date and time.
2. On the insert tab, in the text group, click quick parts and then click field.
3. In the categories box, select date and time.
4. In the field name box , select create date , print date or save date.
5. In the Date format box, select the date and time format that you want.
